Overview
TuneForge is a premium audio extraction tool designed to create clean, high-fidelity MP3s from YouTube videos. Unlike simple converters that output messy filenames and empty metadata, TuneForge uses intelligent heuristics and external database integrations to tag your music exactly like an official digital release.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use TuneForge?
Simply paste any YouTube video link into the converter on the home page and click Start Extraction. TuneForge will download the audio, extract the metadata, fetch corresponding cover art, and query lyric databases. Once complete, you can double-check the tags, select your preferred cover, customize or search for lyrics, and click Finalize & Download to save the file.
What metadata gets automatically embedded?
TuneForge extracts and embeds standard ID3v2.4 tags in your MP3 including:
- Title & Artist: Isolated using smart regex filters that strip away video-specific noise (like "(Official Music Video)" or "[HD]").
- Album & Genre: Queried from the MusicBrainz database.
- Year & Track Number: Injected automatically based on release information.
- Source Link: Embedded as a custom user-defined URL tag (WXXX) pointing back to the source YouTube video.
How does cover art selection work?
We believe in giving you the best visual aesthetics. TuneForge fetches artwork from three distinct sources:
- YouTube Thumbnail: The default video thumbnail (max resolution available).
- MusicBrainz Release Art: High-resolution album cover art from the official MusicBrainz/Cover Art Archive database.
- Custom Upload: Drag and drop your own JPG/PNG image to use as the cover art.
Every cover is dynamically resized to a clean, square 500x500 pixels using Lanczos filtering to ensure fast loading times and compatibility across mobile devices and car displays.
How does lyrics integration work?
We query the LRCLib database using the matched artist, song title, and audio duration. If a match is found, we load both the plain-text lyrics and synced (LRC format) lyrics. Synced lyrics will automatically highlight line-by-line in the preview player. All lyrics are saved directly inside the MP3's USLT (Unsynchronised Lyrics) tag, supported by all major media players.
What audio quality options are supported?
TuneForge supports constant bitrate (CBR) MP3 encoding with options for:
- 320 kbps: Maximum MP3 quality (Recommended for audiophiles).
- 256 kbps: Premium quality, good size-to-fidelity ratio.
- 192 kbps: High quality, standard encoding.
- 128 kbps: Standard quality, small file size.
How is privacy and data handled?
TuneForge respects your privacy. All downloaded videos and extracted files are treated as temporary. Files are processed on our servers and stored in a secured cache. A background worker automatically purges all temporary files exactly 30 minutes after creation. We do not store permanent copies of any audio on our servers.
